Counting my Blessings

Recently, in the midst of health concerns regarding a family member, the universe reminded me balance may be found in our moments of concern and well-beingThere-is-never-a-bad-time-to-count-your-blessings small by leveling it with gratitude for the life we are gifted with each day. For weeks we’ve been challenged by the need for patience while waiting for test results and a diagnosis to be determined. Yesterday, I found there was strength in numbers as my husband and I were joined by our grown children one by one to stand together and face whatever outcome was delivered. I looked around the office at those beautiful faces thinking about the last time we were together under very different circumstances. Despite leading their own lives, in other cities and states, our children manage to gather with us at Thanksgiving or Christmas, along with their spouses and children, to celebrate family traditions. Gathering yesterday helped to solidify the bond we share. Love is a priceless gift when given freely and unconditionally. God has indeed Blessed my family. We received a good prognosis, considered our options and are moving in a positive direction to restore health and healing. You might ask which one of us was experiencing the health crisis and my answer to you is, “We all were.” Be grateful for every day you have an opportunity to be with your family. Let nothing keep you from seeing the best in each other.

Today would have been my mother’s 100th birthday. There is a part of her that lives on in each of those beautiful faces belonging to my family. She touched each of us in her own way through unconditional love. Our days are numbered so celebrate through the ups and downs. Here’s to a wonderful life!
